What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a site stores on your device when you visit it. We also use similar technologies such as local storage. Together we refer to them as "cookies" on this page.

Categories we use

We group cookies into three categories. You can accept all, reject non-essential, or choose which categories to allow via the cookie banner on your first visit. You can change your choice at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer.

  • Strictly necessary — required for login, session handling, security, and core site functionality. These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics — help us understand how BugBitten is used so we can improve it (which pages load, which error). Data is aggregated.
  • Marketing — used for personalised advertising on other sites. Off by default.

Google Analytics & Consent Mode

We use Google Analytics 4 (property G-M2PWXP7MW3) to understand how BugBitten is used. We implement Google Consent Mode v2: until you grant consent, analytics and advertising storage are denied by default. This means Google Analytics does not set identifying cookies on your device unless you opt in.

Your rights

Under the GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA (California), the Australian Privacy Act, and similar laws elsewhere, you have rights to access, correct, port and erase your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. See our Privacy Policy for details on how to exercise them.

How to change your cookie choices

You can change your cookie choices at any time by clicking Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. You can also block cookies in your browser settings — note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will break login and other core functionality.
